[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"] Below is a list of legends related to the distant past of the clans. You are welcome to take these tales and make your own interpretation, as a lot of legends tend to change through word of mouth. Think of these as a template to use to tell stories in character.
The First Warriors
In the beginning, before the clans were created, there lived three cats. Doe, a molly, who hunted mice in the fields for the twolegs she called her own. There was two brothers, Boulder and Bog, who hunted rats in their twoleg's barn. When the feline population increased, man turned against cats.
Forced out of their homes for generations, after working side by side with twolegs for so long, the trio convinced the masses to join them in their new homelands. Doe took her followers to the moorlands, and Boulder took his followers to the mountains. Bog, however, was not willing to move on. He wanted to steal from the humans, as it was their fault they were cast out and left to fend for themselves. He took his followers to the mire, the only place left for the taking. Bog and his followers spent their days stealing from man, until they finally had enough. His followers were poisoned, and his mate was killed. Distraught, the tom called a meeting between the groups, begging Doe and Boulder to help him get revenge on man.
But Doe and Boulder had made peaceful lives, and were not willing to risk the lives of their newfound families. Bog begged, pleaded with his brother, but Boulder refused. From that day forth, Bog decided that man wasn't the true enemy - Doe and Boulder were.
And so, Bog and his followers devised a plan to bring ruin to Doe and Boulder's growing groups. Disguising himself in the scent of Boulder's group, he led man to Doe's camp, where many were captured or killed. He then also left prey, poisoned by twolegs left from his own group on Boulder's territory on the border. He watched as Doe and Boulder turned against one another, believing each other to be responsible for the deaths in each group.
When The Great Clash happened, Doe and Boulder finally turned on each other, warring in the glade. Both leaders were wounded, but agreed to end the war. But Bog intercepted the battle with his followers, killing Doe from behind right in front of everyone. Bog pleaded his brother to join him, to unite the groups. But Boulder, having seen the murderer his brother had become, declined and disowned him then and there. The two brothers clashed, until neither was left standing.
All three leaders died on the battlefield that day, and all was lost. But the night after, the stars came down from the sky. Doe and Boulder stood, their pelts alight with shimmering stars. They named the clans. WarrenClan, for the burrows they had created after Bog led man to their encampment, and CragClan, for the rocky mountain terrain they had learned to traverse. Successors were named, and it was then and there that the traditional naming system and the warrior code was implemented that night.
The Tangled Mire
Originally the place where Bog made his camp, it is believed to be a very cursed place. Many believe it to be the place where all bad souls are exiled from the stars, led by the ancient leader Bog. Those that believe the legends believe that if a cat takes a step into the mire, they are cursed - destined to live a broken life and haunted by the ghost of Bog.
The First Trials
Once the clans were formed, many were unsure what to do with Bog's followers. Many had committed crimes, but just as many were innocent. The clans' leaders decided that they all deserved a fair trial. And so first trials were held at the gathering place.
